Papkonstantino goal in final two minutes lifts 'dogs

The boys came out flying at home on Wednesday afternoon, playing their best half of soccer in the first 40 minutes of the game against Milford. Liam Collins scored his first career goal on a great finish off a corner kick that gave the Bulldogs a 1-0 halftime lead. The squad created tons of first half chances but had to settle for the 1 goal lead at the break.

The second half saw the Green and White have to defend quite a bit more as the Hawks sent lots of numbers forward, but the team held them off until the visitors finally broke through and scored the game-tying goal with just 4 minutes remaining. But rather than let that take the wind out of their sails, the Bulldogs came storming back, creating several good chances in the waning minutes of the game culminating in a bomb of a shot by freshmen Sam Papakonstantino that beat the Milford keeper for his first career goal which iced the 2-1 victory.

The defensive unit of Pat Hession, Andre Dorofeev, Georgio Papakonstantino and Sam Larson were very stingy on the day, locking down a powerful Milford attacking unit.

The team will travel to undefeated Oliver Ames on Friday afternoon looking for another win.

Attleboro sinks Dogs in final minute

It was a great high school soccer game Wednesday night at CHS as the Attleboro Blue Bombadiers visited with hopes of a first-ever win over the Dogs....and they got what they were looking for, defeating the Bulldogs, 3-2.

The Dogs played a great first half but couldn't finish on several good chances as the first frame ended scoreless. Attleboro came out and scored early in the 2nd but the Dogs came storming back on a great individual effort by Damian Kozak- scoring his first goal of the season. The game didn't remain tied for long as Attleboro came right back- scoring on a corner kick. But the 'dogs did not quit, as Eric Wong scored a great header goal off a great ball off the head of Sam Larson on an Andre Dorofeev direct kick. That goal came with just 5 minutes remaining but the 'dogs couldn't hang on for the draw as the Bombadiers caught the Green and White sleeping in the final minute of the game leading to a 3-2 Canton loss.

Art McNally was strong in goal while strong midfield play was put in by Liam Collins and Spencer Cox.

The team will look for its first Hock victory as they travel to Franklin on Monday afternoon.

Dogs fall to NA in Hock Opener

The Bulldogs played quite well on Monday at NA but couldn't overcome an early penalty kick conversion by the Red Rocketeers and fell, 1-0 in their 2013 Hock debut.

The game was played mainly between the 18s as neither team generated a great number of scoring chances. Art McNally came up huge in goal on NA's one good chance of the game (aside from the PK) as he stuffed a clear breakaway chance.

Liam Collins and Tyler Murphy were bright spots for the Bulldogs in the loss.

The team hosts Attleboro on Wednesday night at 6:00pm

O'Brien's two goals lifts 'dogs

Saturday saw the Bulldogs travel to Norwood for a rematch of last fall's first round tournament game that resulted in a penalty shootout win for the Bulldogs. Saturday's game was full of chances for both teams but Bart O'Brien was the only one who managed to find the back of the net in the first frame. After a great pass from Damian Kozak, O'Brien whacked the ball into the far post's side netting to put the visiting team up 1-0 at the break.  O'Brien struck again early in the 2nd frame, calmly slipping the ball past the Norwood keeper after a great combination of Bulldog passes with the final one coming from Liam Collins. A Mustang goal late was part of a late game flurry of chances for the home team, but keeper Art McNally and good defending in the box allowed the 'dogs to hold on for their 2nd win of the young season.

The team will travel to North Attleboro on Monday at 3:30 and host Attleboro at 6:00 on Wednesday as Hockomock League action gets started.

Dogs start off with big Win

Tuesday saw the earliest opening day in program history as the 'dogs got started before school even opened. The game was the first ever match-up between the Bulldogs and the Maurauders and the Bulldogs did not disappoint, besting the visitors, 1-0.  Wolph Gustave broke the scoreless tie midway through the 2nd half on a beautiful volley flicked over the goalkeeper's head. Georgio Papakonstantino provided the pass which led to the goal.

Art McNally earned the shutout in goal.

The team will travel to Norwood on Saturday at noon for a rematch of last year's first round tournament game in which the 'dogs won in a shootout.
