Captains named for 2022 season

Ashton Cetoute
It's been less than two months since the Bulldogs appeared in their first-ever State Championship game and the focus has now been turned to the 2022 campaign.  We bid farewell to an incredible group of seniors who helped to lead our program to the pinnacle of the high school soccer landscape.  The players from the graduating class of 2022 will be sorely missed but their legacy will inspire next year's team and beyond.

A very strong and athletic team returns next fall to write the next chapter of CHS Boys Soccer. The squad will be filled with hard working, talented, and driven young men.  Leading that team as captains will be four amazing young men.

Ashton Cetoute-  Ashton moved to Canton this past summer and joined the Bulldogs after training sessions had already begun. After joining the team, he quickly became a key part of the team's fabric- helping to build a positive, fun climate with his teammates.  It did not take him long to establish himself as a huge contributor on the field as well.  He played in the middle of a stingy back three.  His impact only grew as the season went on.  His best play of the season came during the 5-game tournament run.

We are super-proud to also acknowledge that Ashton is the first African-American captain in our program's 38 year history.

Carson Eagles

Carson Eagles-
Carson has been a consistent contributor to the team since arriving on the scene his freshman season. Canton Boys Soccer has had many line-up shifts and personnel changes over the past three seasons but one thing has been consistent throughout- if you look on the right side of the field, you will find Carson getting work done!

One of the most positive forces of energy in the program, Carson brings everyone up and loves being a part of a winning team much more than any individual spotlight. He will bring a swagger, a confidence and- at the same time- a humbleness to the team as a captain next season.

Jake McCabe
Jake McCabe- Jake was part of a Bulldog attack this past season that was nearly impossible to stop.  He lead the team in scoring- finding the back of the net 16 times while providing 9 assists to his teammates.

He earned All-Hock, All-EMASS, Boston Herald All-Scholastic, Patriot Ledger All-Scholastic, Hockomocksports.com Best 11, and Canton Citizen Male Athlete of the Fall for the amazing season. Jake currently currently stands as #16 on the Bulldog Boys Soccer All-Time scoring list with a season to go! (And the number of games in his sophomore season was significantly cut short by Covid!)

His amazing accomplishments speak for themselves, but what will really make Jake an amazing captain for the Bulldogs is his unmatched work ethic.  Jake will certainly put the work in to come back next fall at a whole new level and I suspect he will inspire his teammates to do the same.
Caden Mirliani

Caden Mirliani- Caden possesses one of the Bulldogs best soccer minds. His ability on the ball is as good as any of the top players in the Hock.  If you caught our team much this year, we certainly had a strong blend of possession and counter-attacking.

When in possession and stringing together multiple passes, it was almost certain that Caden was involved. He certainly makes his mark on our ability to possess the ball.  As captain next year, Caden will certainly set the tone for a team that will need to keep the ball in possession even more if we want to continue our success.

Look for Caden to be the lynchpin for that key team component and to be a big part of getting the boys together to train in the off-season.  Caden's individual successes next year will certainly lead to team success.
