Good luck to our members of the Class of 2019

CHS Boys Soccer class of 2019- (L-R)- Mike Mazzola, Nate Achildyev, Paolo Ruggeri, Avery Minkin, Paul Corcoran, Griffin Roach, Simon Cruz, Huy Pham
A very special class of eight soccer seniors walked the stage at Canton High School's graduation ceremony last week.  This class has made a huge impact over the past four years in our soccer program and beyond.  They are amazing role models for our younger student athletes.  They set the bar high for future Bulldog soccer players in all areas of high school soccer- from work ethic to commitment to results....from community outreach to academic excellence...from great sportsmanship to team-first play.  This class of eight has simply been amazing.

Here are some of the team's accomplishments during their time here:

  • 3 MIAA tournament qualifications- 2016, 2017, 2018
  • 2 Hock Davenport Runner-Up finishes- 2017, 2018
  • Hock Sportsmanship Award- 2015, 2017
  • MIAA Sportsmanship Award- 2017
  • United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award- 2017 (hoping to 2018 as well!)
  • Team record since their sophomore year- 28-17-13

All eight of these young men have been true scholar-athletes with all eight of them consistently being named to the CHS Honor Roll. They will each be continuing their academic careers at great colleges and universities this fall:

Nathan Achildyev- University of Massachusetts- Amherst
Paul Corcoran- Providence College
Simon Cruz- Northeastern University
Mike Mazzola- Salutatorian of the class of 2019- Dartmouth College
Avery Minkin- University of Massachusetts- Amherst
Huy Pham- University of Massachusetts-Amherst
Griffin Roach- Boston University- Griffin will be on the Men's Soccer team at BU.
Paolo Ruggeri- Wentworth Institute of Technology- Paolo will be on the Men's Soccer team at WIT.

Thank you to this class for keeping CHS Boys Soccer moving forward toward our goal of excellence.  You have made a huge impact! And thanks for the memories, too!
