Up and down week for Bulldogs

It was a week filled with lots of action and lots of varying emotion as the team went 1-1-1 on the week against hard-nosed Kelley-Rex opponents.

The week started with a home win over Attleboro, 2-1 on Monday. Sammy Papakonstantino scored both Bulldog goals off of passes from the team's leading scorer Ben Waterhouse and Jake Verille. Goalkeeper Abe Garber earned his first career win in just his 3rd start on the season.

Wednesday saw the team travel to Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, home of the New England Revolution (and the Patriots!) for a battle against Kelley-Rex leading and once beaten Mansfield in a huge community event at the incredible venue. After playing a subpar first half, the Bulldogs settled down and started to wear down the heavily favored Hornets. The final 20 minutes of the game was dominated by the Bulldogs but three quality scoring chances in the closing minutes of the game were all turned away by the Hornets and the game ended in a hard-fought 0-0 draw. The week ended on a low note as the team traveled to Franklin to face the 4-time defending Kelley-Rex Champion Panthers. A lackluster first half saw the Bulldogs fall behind, 1-0 at the half before waking up and playing much better soccer in the 2nd half. A Panther goal in the final minute of the rain-soaked game resulted in a 2-0 loss for the Bulldogs.

Many Bulldogs played well on the week but John Agnitti, Matas Leveckis, Paolo Ruggeri, Danny Hartnett and Pat McLaughlin were all particularly strong on the defensive side of the ball.
